Polydextrose

This versatile ingredient is manufactured from natural products. It is a polysaccharide which is often described as a soluble dietary fibre.

The main use is in food formulations to add as a bulking agent to maintain mouthfeel, texture and volume in combination with intense sweeteners. In addition, its humectant qualities can improve the shelf life of products.

Typical applications are : ice cream, baked goods, confectionary and snack products.
